Hawaiian Islands Land Trust

Operates on all islands, but seems to be most involved on Maui, where they are based. Primarily involved in acquisition of key land tracts to protect and preserve. Also coordinates volunteer days for land restoration and environmental talks to engage the public. They have quite a few holdings on each island.
Hawai’i Conservation Alliance Foundation

Large organization which coordinates many other eco-conscious groups and government organizations with the goal of preserving ecosystems and biodiversity. They deal in long term strategy, planning and also coordinate the annual Hawai’i Conservation Conference. They have some some volunteering opportunities with their community outreach programs. One of last partially intact ahupuaa on O`ahu, Waimea Valley consists of 1,875 acres and has been a sacred place for more than 700 years of Native Hawaiian history. As part of a cooperative conservation land purchase, Hiipaka LLC. was established to manage and preserve this sacred land.
